Case Study: The Royal Institute of British Architects Enterprises RIBAe

RIBA Enterprises comprises a network of retail and service functions established to deliver construction industry professionals effective solutions to their key vocational requirements both within the UK and overseas.

RIBA Enterprises’ operations can be segregated into two functional areas based on two customer types; Information End Users traditionally referred to as “Specifiers” and Advertisers, traditionally known as “Manufacturers”. The systems and processes in place failed to enable RIBAe to integrate data as information from these data-silos in a timely and cost efficient manner, and could not produce the reporting output management required to make informed decisions on customer behaviour and ensure sustainable services.

A Business Intelligence Solution was required to mine the inherent value locked within, and gathered from, RIBA Enterprises’ combined operations, enabling cross organisation performance analysis and Information Insight into customer buying behavior.

Case Study: Places for People - Performance Management For Social Housing

With a turnover in excess of £200million and a workforce of 1600 people, Places for People is one of the UK’s leading housing and regeneration specialists being responsible for more than 52,000 homes in England, Scotland and Wales for rent and sale.

Places for People needed greater additional insight into organisational performance and improved performance management across every aspect of the business, from property development and housing provision to financial services and social care.

The company planned to consolidate its core operational applications into a centralised and standard instance of software programmes in order to achieve accuracy and consistency in both transactional and performance management applications.

Ultimately the project created an Enterprise-wide Data Warehouse spanning the 10 subsidiaries.

Recognising the specialisation of Business Intelligence (BI) and performance management solutions, the client wished to identify a BI database and performance management software toolset which were fit for purpose, and a reliable business intelligence solutions provider.  Based on both previous work with the company and its established track record for successful delivery,  was selected to design and deliver a performance management software solution centred around business critical housing key performance indicators, enabling Places for People to conduct meaningful performance anlysis and measurement.

Case Study: AMG

AMG outsourced its management information project to from the initial analysis and design, through to the creation of a high-level functional specification. This included the development of a Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse and creation of reports using BusinessObjects Web Intelligence from Business Objects, the BI software that allows users to track, understand, and manage organizational data over intranets and extranets. The solution also included training for both IT developers and key internal super users.

UK Based Telecommunications Provider

UK based Telecommunications provider now have real-time visibility of sales and customer service performance across the organisation, and of a granularity to meet the needs of each different tier of user.

The project, delivered in partnership with visualmetrics, which included the scoping, design and delivery of a Data Warehouse and an SAP Business Objects reporting platform, has enabled the customer to conduct timely analysis of sales performance across all divisions and lines of business, thereby enabling the organisation to dynamically react to trends in customer buying behaviour, manage opportunity forecast and react to service demands. Insight into performance is delivered at a significantly lower cost, with savings swiftly justifying the investment.
